You want to level them up because hitting level 60/70 will unlock Asc 4 passive talent for ALL ELEMENTS, but at the same time, each element's Autoattack, skill and burst must be levelled individually. Honkai Impact, miHoYo's previous game, featured Genshin as one of the parallel universes on the Imaginary Tree. Go physical and just use whatever element fits best for the situation. Or go Geo and focus on Skill damage. Since with C4 they can do up to 700% DMG every 6 seconds. Which is pretty huge.

Dendro Traveller is the best element. Build 4pc deepwood and they work great as offield dendro application in pretty much any Hyperbloom, Burgeon or Quicken/Spread team archetypes. Burgeon is a little annoying, because if you accidentally hit the burst with pyro before hydro your rotation is ruined.
