More than a year after Rochester residents voted for it, a massive recreation center is set to go up near southern Rochester’s business district. But questions remain over just what the city’s $65 million regional sports complex will contain.

The city of Rochester has signed off on a $5 million property acquisition for a future $65 million sports and recreation complex, a project that will bring new outdoor athletic facilities to the southeast part of the city.

Staff says starting with outdoor facilities is cost-effective approach with full implementation remaining as goal.
