OUR NEXT FIRST ALERT: Mild weather is expected to kick off the last few days of January. The best chance for precipitation will be at the end of the week. As temps warm we are likely looking at on and off rain chances. Temperatures expected to break 40 degrees a few times this week as we say goodbye to January and hello to February.

A lot of active weather to start this new week with wind and snow. Today is a First Alert Weather Day because of the strong winds. Snow will come in rounds tonight and Tuesday afternoon.

Widespread rain is expected across the area on Friday, especially during the morning and afternoon hours. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs near 50 degrees. Rain should taper off by Friday night, allowing sunshine to return for at least the first part of the weekend.

Expect wind gusts reaching 30 to 35 mph today, but stronger gusts arrive Wednesday. Gusts may reach 45 to 55 mph. We'll see a mixture of clouds & some sunshine on this Tuesday. While high temperatures will be similar to Monday in the upper 40s,
