The House of Representatives has given the green light to a bill letting Utah ditch daylight saving time. One week after pausing debate on the closely watched measure, the Utah House resumed the discussion Wednesday afternoon and passed HB120 with a 52-23 vote.

"The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social in 2024. "Daylight Saving Time is inconvenient, and very costly to our Nation."

Although winter may linger a while longer, daylight saving time and the first signs of spring will come to Texas in about a month.
