The third and final season of Netflix's hit South Korean series "Squid Game" will debut on June 27, 2025, the streamer announced on Thursday, January 30. Netflix just dropped Season 2 (titled "Squid Game 2") on Christmas Day 2024 - more than three years after the original season became a sensation.

Lee stars in Season 2 of “Squid Game” alongside returning cast member Wi Ha-jun as Jun-ho and Lee Byung-hun as the mysterious Front Man, alongside a slew of new stars. Hwang Dong-hyuk is the creator of the series and serves as director and executive producer, with Kim Ji-yeon also serving as an EP.

Things ended on a pretty bleak note for Squid Game contestants at the conclusion of the show’s second season. Following in the footsteps of fellow downer middle chapter The Empire Strikes Back, Squid Game ‘s “empire” of very rich psychopaths led by The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) scored a fairly decisive victory over their own rebel forces.
