Snow lovers had plenty to celebrate this week as a series of winter storms brought fresh snowfall to California’s mountains, including ski resorts around Lake Tahoe.
Wintry precipitation remains a near-certainty for the Lehigh Valley region after Christmas, but how much snow and ice will fall remains in flux, according to forecasters.
The snow forecast map by Dan Zarrow, chief meteorologist for NJ 101.5 FM radio and the Townsquare New Jersey Weather Network, has the hardest hit areas at the top of the state with heavy snowfall of at least 5 to 6 inches of snow in some regions.
Discussion: High pressure is moving through the Mid-Atlantic US. It will push cold air downward ahead of it (tonight and tomorrow), setting up a colder environment. The high will then depart the E US into the Atlantic Ocean and draw warmer flow upward in its wake for later Tuesday.
