Governor Kathy Hochul was in Marcy on Friday, demanding answers after the death of Robert Brooks last week. Brooks was the prisoner who died at the Marcy Correctional Facility on Tuesday, December 10 after an encounter with officers at the facility.

Hochul says she demanded answers from the facility’s interim leadership about the death of 43-year-old Robert Brooks.

She already ordered a comprehensive investigation into Brooks's death and instructed New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Commissioner Daniel Martuscello to initiate the termination process for the 14 individuals involved in the fatal incident.
