Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she has declared a State of Emergency in the counties of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, Oneida and contiguous counties.

More than a dozen counties are under a state of emergency as areas of upstate New York could receive multiple feet of snow.

Albany, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday evening declared a state of emergency across much of Upstate and Western New York as a lake effect snowstorm and frigid arctic air arrive.

This includes counties of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and Oneida.
