South Korean investigators failed to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol after an hours-long standoff with his security forces.

On Friday morning, officials abandoned an attempt to detain South Korea’s embattled president, throwing the country deeper into chaos.

There were more than 100 police officers and they were armed with a warrant - but South Korean authorities failed to arrest suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol after a six-hour deadlock outside his home.
