Investigators are considering an array of possible ignition sources for the fires that have killed at least 10 people and destroyed thousands of structures in California.

The Los Angles Police Department said "a male was heard stating a suspect was 'attempting to light a fire'" near the Kenneth Fire.

The devastating wildfires ripping through northwest Los Angeles are still burning as firefighters respond to the threat facing southern California. Thousands of people have evacuated homes and businesses,

President-elect Donald Trump said the failure to contain the Los Angeles wildfires was "all" Governor Newsom's fault.

Trump has said he would turn on “a very large faucet” that could send millions of gallons of water from the Columbia River to Los Angeles.

Firefighters have made progress battling some of the blazes. The Palisades Fire is 6% contained after scorching nearly 20,000 acres, and firefighters have made progress tackling two others, the Hurst Fire (37% contained) and the Lidia Fire (75%) contained.

LOS ANGELES − As multiple wildfires continue to burn through Southern California, evacuation orders remain in place throughout the region through at least Thursday. Authorities continue to investigating the causes of three wildfires that began burning in Southern California on Tuesday and two fires that sparked north of Los Angeles and in Hollywood on Wednesday.

The multiple wildfires raging in California are being described by eyewitnesses as "apocalyptic." While the cost in human suffering is immeasurable, it may take weeks or longer for the true economic toll to be realized.
