Jota (25) has left Rennes to secure his comeback to Celtic FC, both clubs have announced. The Portuguese winger has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Scottish Premiership giants,

It has been the best part of two years since we have seen Jota in a Hoops training kit after he left in 2023 for Al-Ittihad in a £25million deal. This morning, though, our superstar from Portugal donned the black and green gear and took part in his first session under new manager Brendan Rodgers.

Jota returns for a reported fee of £9m and has signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Scottish champions. During his first spell at the club, the 25-year-old won every domestic honour available to him and scored 28 goals and provided 26 assists. He is being tipped to wear the number 23 jersey on his return.

Celtic have secured Jota on a five-and-a-half-year contract after he swapped places with Kyogo Furuhashi. The 25-year-old has completed his move from Rennes 18 months after leaving Celtic in a reported £25million move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Jota spent one year with Al-Ittihad before an offseason move to Rennes, which has sold the Portuguese forward to Celtic for a reported 10 million euros ($10.5 million). Celtic got a reported 29 million ($30.5 million) selling him after his first spell in Glasgow.
