ASUS's showcase at CES 2025 included several new products and one of them was a world's first 27-inch 4K gaming monitor that detects when users walk away.

OLED monitors offer better contrast but can have burn-in issues if static images are displayed too long. Major manufacturers like Samsung, Asus, and MSI have announced 27-inch 4K OLED displays, each with unique features.

27-inch 4K OLED 240Hz monitors seem to be like buses: you wait ages for one and then three turn up at once. Asus, Samsung, and MSI are all announcing the industry’s next-generation QD-OLED gaming monitors that offer the benefits of 4K OLED 240Hz panels at the smaller 27-inch size instead of 32 inches.

Announced at CES 2025, the Swift OLED PG27UCDM is the first of its kind. Up until this time, you either picked a high resolution and lower refresh rate, or a buttery smooth framerate with a lower resolution. Now, we don’t have to make that choice anymore, and after witnessing this for myself, I’m so glad that this decision is no more.

Alienware is joining Asus, Samsung, and MSI in making a silly “world’s first” claim — all four of them are now set to launch a genuinely exciting new wave of 27-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitors with an excellent 240Hz refresh rate.
