Ben Collins to made a successful bid for Inforwars' assests with the consent of the Sandy Hook families. The site will re-launch in January, to target "weird internet personalities" and mock the conspiracy theory subculture.

Infowars was up for sale to help cover the $1.5 billion conspiracy theorist Alex Jones owes for defaming the families of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting victims.

The Onion has won the bankruptcy auction for Alex Jones’ Infowars, backed by families of Sandy Hook victims, with plans to relaunch it as a satirical site aimed at conspiracy theories.
