North India is reeling from heavy rainfall and plunging temperatures, with the IMD issuing a hailstorm alert for Delhi and surrounding areas.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a western disturbance currently situated near Punjab and adjoining areas is expected to bring light rain or snowfall to isolated parts of the western Himalayan region.

Delhi air quality shifted from the 'severe' category to the 'poor' on Friday and has further improved to the moderate category due to continuous rains.

The rains continued to lash the national capital on Saturday morning and reports of waterlogging have also come from the various parts of the city.
