Before you add cinnamon to your festive dishes or homemade PSL, check which brands had recalls. High amounts of lead could make your cinnamon unsafe to consume.

The findings from Consumer Reports follow recent recalls of cinnamon products and last year’s major FDA investigation into lead-contaminated WanaBana cinnamon applesauce.

Twelve of the 36 products tested by Consumer Reports measured above 1 part per million of lead. That is the threshold that triggers a recall in New York – which is the only U.S. state that regulates heavy metals in spices, the nonprofit noted.
