Beautiful nature preserve with several hiking trails and sights to see including wildlife and water features. It is so close to downtown and a really nice way to get out and see the natural landscape. Full review by YesVeggie

Nice Kentucky River overlook but the red trail was a bit treacherous for a 60 Year old with osteoporosis. I had to constantly be looking down for raised tree stumps and roots, as well as rocks. Also… Full review by O9886NP
The park states it closes at a certain time. Do they lock the gate or something? Would this apply if you were already parked and in the park but stayed on the trails past closing? Or is this just the entrance gate while the exit gate remains open? Is it possible to park outside of the gate and walk in?

Deer, coyotes, foxes, raptors and varmits. A few pretty vistas and historical sites also; if you're out that way, definitely visit. Otherwise, not worth the trip from downtown Lexington. …
